SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF WEBSTER, SOUTH DAKOTA
Council room, City Hall, Webster, South Dakota, May 10, 2010, at 5:00 p.m. a special meeting was held with Mayor Mike Grosek presiding. Councilmen present: Roger Monson, Dave Jesme, Wayne Klungseth, Wally Pribyl, Morgan Dorsett, Jim Grimes. Staff: Linda Hoberg.
Motion by Monson, seconded by Klungseth to approve hiring Jesse Coyle, certified patrolman on a part-time basis until June 14th, after which time he will then be employed as full-time patrolman for the City of Webster. All councilmen voting aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Grimes, seconded by Pribyl to approve patrolman Ryan Kiefer staying on as a temporary employee after May 16th at the rate of $13.50/hour. Length of employment is a discretion of the council. All councilmen voting aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Pribyl, seconded by Klungseth to approve Jesse Coyle’s wage be set at $13.50/hour. All councilmen voting aye. Motion carried.
Don Wolter was present to discuss property he owns and inquired about the process to annex property to the city as he has had requests from individuals looking for lots. Wolter indicated he would be willing to set up a meeting with the city engineer to discuss the matter further.
Motion by Jesme, seconded by Monson to approve the mayor sign an agreement with NE Council of Governments for contract administration for the lagoon project. Compensation for services is not to exceed $5,000.00 which is an eligible cost of the project and Rural Development funds can be used for this expense. All councilmen voting aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Monson, seconded by Klungseth to approve the mayor sign the Federal Aviation Entitlement Funds Agreement with the SD Department of Transportation. All councilmen voting aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Jesme, seconded by Pribyl to set a variance hearing for Wayne Kuecker, 427 East 12th Avenue, to move in two storage buildings closer than the required five feet from the side lot line. The hearing is set for 7:15 p.m. on June 7, 2010, at City Hall. All councilmen voting aye. Motion carried.
Council discussed correspondence received regarding a landowner wanting to place a culvert in a ditch that drains storm water from the city.
Motion to adjourn by Jesme, seconded by Monson. Motion carried.
